Saturday Afternoon on the River (9/13/2025)

I really should have worked, but with my truck in the shop when a buddy texted to go fishing I said, “YES!!!!!!!”

He picked me up late in the afternoon and we headed out.  I played with the 3 inch Club-O on the Kahle Bead Jig for a while and managed to stick one dink, but small baits are better in the spring for me.  I switched to the Square Back Minnow.

It was slow for both of us, but I managed three on the Square Back Minnow, before switching to the new Kicker Buzz Frog and sticking what might have been the biggest of the outing.

We didn’t do any flipping, but with the grass still being thick and healthy a punch rig might have been just the ticket for a few more bites.

I had the import police body camera on, but I don’t know if I got enough footage to make a video.  Wearing a camera was really more of any after thought anyway.

Here is the biggest one I caught on the Square Back Minnow.  The one I caught on the Kicker Buzz Frog was bigger, but I never even thought to snap a picture.
