Good Afternoon On The Water – All My Own Baits
A buddy invited me out yesterday afternoon, and we pretty much had the area to ourselves. The Square Back Minnow is still putting numbers of fish in the boat for me.
My buddy caught several on Club-Os, and he fished an RFLT for a short time putting a nice one in the boat.
After sunset when the wind finally let up we switched to top water. He’s big on the Rio Rico, and he caught one fish on it before he switched to throwing the new Kicker Buzz Frog. The big news of the evening was that he shortly after caught his first top water buzz frog fish.
It was getting to dark to line watch the Square Back Minnow, so I switched to the new Kicker Buzz Frog too. I managed a few bites on it myself including this one.
We didn’t actually fish it very long before heading in, but the new Kicker Buzz Frog definitely catches fish. Like the Curly Buzz Frog some anglers might like fishing it on a lightly weighted hook, but we had no issues fishing it on weightless hooks. The big surprise, if I hadn’t already tested it in the pool, would have been that it kicks nicely at even slower speeds than the Curly Buzz Frog. The Curly Buzz Frog was already one of the best slow speed kickers when I invented it all those years ago.
If you like the bait, buy the mold and make as many as you want.
