Still Busy With Life
Sorry I haven’t posted any fishing information in a while. I’ve been making molds, working in/on the shop, and even working on boats, but no fishing in over two weeks.
Friday the air compressor went out in my shop. Start capacitor on the motor went bad. I ordered a new start capacitor for Saturday delivery, but it didn’t show up until Monday. On Saturday I ran out to my dad’s old shop and picked up his air compressor. Same size as the one in my shop. An 80 gallon two stage. The thing is it was setup to use an external mag starter instead of just switching power directly with the pressure switch… and I left the mag starter on the wall in that shop. I made a round trip back out there wasting a few hours on Sunday, and decided to leave it on the wall, there were a couple other circuits routed through the box I didn’t want to disconnect.
So back at the shop I ordered a new mag starter as long as one for my compressor to convert it to mag start, and while I was at it I ordered five new fishing reels, and ten packs of heavy flipping hooks.
The trip out to pickup that compressor was a bit of a chore. Its way to heavy to just pick up and put int he truck, so I trailered my tractor out there with the forks on the front. That worked okay. I also picked up a welder while I was there. Back at the shop the trailer broke (or maybe just bent, but I heard a crack) backing the tractor down the ramps with the welder. The compressor still needed to be unloaded, so I put a couple jack stands under the back othe trailer and with some trepidation drove back onto the trailer to pickup and unload the compressor.
