The Tin Can Rides Again
I’ve gotten really spoiled the last couple years. I got a buddy into fishing some years back. After I took him out and had a few good days he bought his own boat, and now he calls me up to go out regularly. I haven’t put The Tin Can in the water in well over two years. It’s probably about that long since I put the ProCraft in the water as well. I’ve gotten spoiled.
As you know I sometimes like to do some goofy things like put a boat in a local pond to fish it a little easier than fishing it from the bank. Not all the ponds benefit from it, but a couple local ponds do. I think The Tin Can is perfect for it. Just keep the big motor tilted out of the water, and run on the electric.
I just renewed the registration on The Tin Can today. If you see some goofy weirdo out on your favorite pond in a 16 ft jon boat it’s probably me.
I was thinking about getting rid of The Tin Can entirely, and using the 50HP Mercury on Whisker Seeker, but I may keep it as an electric only pond boat. I’ve got a 36 volt trolling motor on it so it will be plenty fast enough for little waters.
Then again I might take the 40 that came off Whisker Seeker and throw it on The Tin Can.
