She’s Back – 2024 F250 AC Fail (recall)

Well, after almost two weeks the princess is back.  It was a warranty repair of course, but I had a few truck things to do the last couple weeks with no truck.  Not the least of which was going fishing.  Fortunately, a buddy had pity on me and invited me out Saturday (see more).  The air conditioner on my 2024 F250 failed on my last canal bank fishing adventure.  The dealer ship never offered me a loaner even though every other business owner I have talked to who had a warranty repair on a truck got a loaner while there’s was in the shop.  I’m still a little peeved about that.  Maybe they were being petty, because I didn’t buy the truck from them.  Maybe there really are more trucks in for warranty repair than they have loaner trucks.  Either way That didn’t earn any loyalty from me. If I buy another new truck before I die I’ll probably do like I did for this one and buy it where I get the best price and convenience.

I bought this one at Jones Ford in Buckeye.  I actually found a couple at better prices, but I would have had to fly out and drive back spending a few days on the road to get them.  Tom Jones was a one-day thing and I did most of the negotiating by email, so when I got there, it was just paperwork and out the door.

(Jones was okay on the price of the truck, but they were low on trade value like every other new car dealer.  I suggest selling to Carmax or private party sales is far better financially.  Much bigger difference than any tax savings.)

I had this warranty work done at the local Yuma dealer.  Last I looked there were no recalls on the truck, but air conditioners on 2024 Fords trucks out of the Kentuckey plant were dropping like flies since early 2024.  The service writer told me there was a recall on that AC unit, so it looks like Ford finally did the right thing and issued a recall.  Anyway, mine is fixed.
