Buying a (New to You) Used Boat

It can be quite daunting to buy a used boat, and out of the price range of many to buy a new boat.  You can spend a lifetime saving up to pay cash for a hundred-thousand-dollar glitter rocket, indenture your grandchildren when you take out a loan that’s as much of a long-term commitment as a home mortgage, or you can look for a deal on a “good” used boat.  What’s an angler to do?

I’m a pretty handy guy, and I’ve spent the better part of my life fixing things because I couldn’t afford nice new things, but I can’t speak for what’s best for you.  Only you can make that decision.  However, this video from Luke McFadden might be useful if you want to consider going down the used boat path.  I almost didn’t watch it because it’s so long but finally did.  I put it on while doing some chores and found myself sitting down to watch it.  Not everything applies to every boat, but there is a LOT of valuable information contained within.  It’s worth the 47 minutes if you are thinking about a new to you used boat.
