Quick Update
I managed to get out a few days ago on a weekday afternoon and I missed every strike I got but one. It was on a Kicker Buzz Frog. Greg G who was gracious enough to invite me out did okay. I think he caught at least half a dozen including a couple around three pounds. I think he caught one or two on his own secret colors of Club-O, and on one a popper. The rest came on his own secret flipping bait he had me custom make a mold for. Sorry. Can’t tell you what it is or show it to you. It’s his own secret bait, his own design, and he paid for me to make it for him.
I got several molds made over the weekend and I was looking at getting ahead of schedule today, but there is no way I am going to run any jobs on the CNC mills with thunder and lightning crashing all around me. That’s just asking for a lightning strike or a power failure.
Instead I repaired half a dozen rods. I just finished replacing three tip tops and replacing three damaged guides. Tip tops are easy, and there is a trick that makes single foot guides easier than you might think. I’ve still got a couple rods on the repair rack, but there both need double foot guides replaced. I have to go look through my bucket of unsalvageable rods to see if there are any guides I can recycle. I don’t have any in my new parts drawer.
I did think about maybe trying to outrun the various thunder heads and doing some canal bank fishing today, but waving a graphite electrode around in the air didn’t sound like a good idea either.
And that’s about it.
