Mittry Lake - Jan 28th 2023

We didn’t catch many fish, but we caught a couple and farmed a couple.

The water temp was 54F. About 3 degrees cooler than the main river in the Imperial division. Of course a few places have warmer water if you know where to find them.

The fish we caught were on slow moving reaction bites, but I missed three dinks flipping a big bait and fell victim to the Mittry Lake “pressure bite” with one that felt like a big one dragging a flip bait out from the bank.

We did drag up some brown and green grass on our hooks in some areas, and after sunset atleast a couple hundred smaller ducks come in and set down out in the middle of a large area. They settled in well clear of any tulie clumps, so I expect they are pretty blind shy. It doesn’t really matter. Duck season is over in Arizona.
